What We Do
To fulfil our mission, Active Nation campaign nationally to get more people excited about participating in sport and exercise. At present we’re based at 17 sports and exercise venues right across the UK, ranging from swimming pools to leisure centres to ski slopes. Working with 6 local authority partners and a Primary Care Trust, we deliver an abundance of innovative sport and exercise programmes.
Now, think of a sport in your head. Got one? Chances are we offer it at one of our venues. If it gets you active, we’ve got it covered. From gym sessions and swimming lessons to snowsports and watersports, we exist to get the nation moving.
Beyond these activities, our centre’s also operate as regional activity hub’s, offering a base from which many local sports clubs can operate from. We pride ourselves on being able to offer the facilities, expertise and support to help nurture the growth and development of sport and exercise in every community.
But we don’t restrict ourselves to the communities surrounding our centres, our interest lies in getting the whole nation moving. What really sets us apart in the leisure sector is that Active Nation is a campaigning organisation with the objective of positively influencing activity rates right across the country. That’s why we have developed strong relationships with a diverse range of partners all around the UK, a network that includes sports development teams, school and county sport partnerships, governing bodies, local authorities and Primary Care Trusts, to list a few. Working together with organisations that share our passion for sport and exercise, we are fully committed to influencing the health of the nation for the better.
Whether it’s accommodating a local sports club or driving down national obesity levels, we keep ourselves pretty busy. And we’re proud to do what we do.
