This RYA (Royal Yachting Association) two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations. This course also works on your launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring and leaving and coming alongside.
Following our 2 day course, you’ll be a self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of your own limitations and those of craft.
We’re proud to deliver our Powerboat Level 2 courses in our Ribeye 7.8m and Valiant 6.2m RIBs and our courses operate within the River Itchen, River Test, River Hamble, Southampton Water and The Solent – meaning we cover the basics in a variety of conditions.

We’ll issue an RYA Powerboat Level 2 Coastal Certificate upon successful completion of the course. You will need to provide a current Passport Photo of yourself, please bring this with you on day 1 of the course.
All our courses are led by friendly, passionate and qualified RYA Instructors.

We have a variety of brilliant quality powerboats – allowing us to deliver a diverse range of courses.
All specialist kit is provided – including lifejackets and coastal waterproof tops and trousers are also available – just in case the British weather is determined to get you wet!
