Thinking of becoming a Ski or Snowboard Instructor?
Guess what...you’re in luck! We offer a full instructor training program for those wishing to become an instructor or those already qualified and wishing to progress to a higher level.
All of our training is provided by highly experienced and qualified instructors and coaches all holding qualifications with BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors) or Snowsport England.
How do I become an instructor?
We run a trainee instructor program for both Skiing and Snowboarding. These sessions are aimed at Skiers who can ski to a basic parallel standard and Snowboarders who can make linked turns from the top of our main slope. The minimum age for these sessions is 16 years for skiing and 18 years for snowboarding.
Training will cover teaching techniques and personal performance skills in line with all the major training organisations in the UK. Training is tailored to give you the knowledge and skills required to qualify as an instructor.
There is an initial training program of 6 sessions during which you will look at basic teaching skills, fundamental skills, slope safety, personal performance and the progression. At the end of this period you will have an agreed action plan to further develop your skills in preparation for gaining your qualification, as well as advice on the best qualification for you. The cost of this 6 week initial course is £100 this includes 4 practice vouchers for use during the 6 week course. Once the initial training course is completed training continues with the focus on further development based on your action plan.
Each session is a minimum of two hours in duration and coaching is delivered by UK Coaching Scheme Level 4 Coaches, BASI Tutors or BASI qualified instructors.
